Assignment 1
Introduction to Technical Drawings
- In this assignment, we are required to select an item and produce orthogonal drawings set of a 1:1 scale of the item.
-The selected item shall be smaller than the A4 paper size and should be of a reasonable challenging level.
-We need to produce 1 top view, 3 elevations, and 1 section.
-All the drawings are to be drawn MANUALLY. NO coloring or rendering.
-We can only use PENCIL to draw all the drawings.
-All lines should be drawn by using a ruler and the proper tools.
Objectives of the Assignment:
The objectives of this assignment
• To implement observation skills and be able to interpret, record, organize and describe the forms and shapes of an item.
• To impart understanding on the plan view, elevation, and section view and ability to express three-dimensional objects into two-dimensional orthographic drawings.
Learning Outcomes of the Assignment:
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to demonstrate the following
• Identify the different types of drawings used in the construction industry.
• Ability to Identify basic principles, conventions, and techniques in drawings.
• Ability to apply drawing as a means of communication in order to express three-dimensional space and object into two- dimensional orthographic drawings.

1. Lifelong Learning
At the end of the assignment, I realize that I have strengthened my time management, as well as independent study. I went on to various sites for references and search for the best solutions without depending on lecturers and tutors.
2. Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills
At the end of this assignment, I was able to figure out the problem that I faced and try my best to find some ways so that the problem can be solved. I learned to imagine the different views of my selected items in my mind while doing this assignment.
3. Intrapersonal Skills
I have learned to manage myself, be self-reliant, and reflect on one's actions, and learning from them. I learned that it is important to look back at my work from time to time before proceeding, as this can help me to find out what mistakes I have done when doing this assignment so that I can always make things better and improve my drawings before the submission deadline.
