Inside Out -
Head-Space Cube
-This assignment is about designing a space for the user/client, 1 of the characters from the movie ‘INSIDE OUT’.
-The space designed should embody and reflect the user’s/client’s characteristics, traits, behavioural actions, and habits based on the students’ interpretations and findings.
-The concept/ approach/ theme/ intention should reflect skills and knowledge acquired from Assignment 1 and Assignment 2- design elements, design principles, ergonomics, scale, proportion, form, and space manipulation.
-We are required to use regular or irregular geometric shapes and forms for the design of the HEAD-SPACE CUBE to explore the spatial design, spatial qualities, and atmosphere.
-We are not allowed to use organic shapes unless it is formed by using regular circles however very minimal usage of organic lines, shapes, or forms is allowed upon the tutor’s consent during consultation.
-The design should not be literal or representing anything literal like an object.
-We need to apply design elements, colour theory, design principles, and composition articulately to make the HEAD-SPACE CUBE as interesting as possible.
-The HEAD-SPACE CUBE FINAL MODEL should be designed within the given perimeter of 30cm³ (30cm H x 30cm W x 30cm L).
-During the submission of the assignment, we need to produce 1 A1 size of DIGITAL PRESENTATION BOARD by using CANVA.
-We are required to prepare a 5 to 7 minutes pre-recorded video for final verbal presentation.
Objectives of the Assignment:
The objectives of this project:
• To apply the knowledge of design principles, formal organization, and variation to design ideas.

On successful completion of this assignment, students will be able to demonstrate the following:
• Recognize and identify basic design elements and design principles.
• Apply and manipulate the elements and principles of design to achieve specified goals in the design environment.
• Organize space to demonstrate competency in spatial design skills.
• Demonstrate visual and volumetric thinking through the production of spatial design ideas.
Weekly Progress
Reflection
1. Communication Skills
When I am having some problems with my assignment, I will try to find my tutor or my friends and let them know about my problems so I can get some suggestions, solutions, and also feedback from them and solve my problem to get better. This helps me to improve my communication skills. I will explain my sketches and say my problems to my tutor during tutorials class. I will also call my friends or text them through Whatsapp to seek ideas and suggestions. This gives me a chance to enhance my communication skills and helps me to communicate appropriately in various settings and modes.
2. Lifelong Learning
The assignment helps me to improve more in locate, extract, synthesize, and utilize information effectively. At the end of the assignment, I learned to apply the knowledge of design principles, formal organization, and variation to design ideas. I learned to organize space to demonstrate competency in spatial design skills and demonstrate visual and volumetric thinking through the production of spatial design ideas.
3. Digital Literacy
Due to Covid-19, we are having the online submission for our assignment. For this assignment, we need to submit a presentation board and also a presentation video. By using CANVA, I can create my presentation board very easily and there are also many designs and decorations we can use for our presentation board. We need to produce a presentation video for our assignment. I need to edit and trim my video before I submit it. Hopefully, with the help of technology, I downloaded a software app from the internet, and the app, Wondershare Filmora 9, helps me a lot in the editing part. I have learned some editing skills from it.
